Mets Win 5-1 against Marlins

The New York Mets (10-8) defeated the Miami Marlins (7-10) by a score of 5-1.
The game featured an interesting pitching matchup with R.A Dickey going for the Mets and newly signed Mark Buehrle going for the Marlins.
R.A. Dickey was just fantastic. Dickey gave up only 3 hits and 1 run in 7 innings, with the biggest one being a solo shot by Marlins` second basemen Omar Infante.
The Mets were shutout for the first five innings until the sixth inning.
SIXTH INNING
Kirk Nieuwenhuis lead-off the sixth with a hit by pitch. Ruben Tejada would fly out to center-field bringing up Daniel Murphy with 1 out. Murphy would hit a double play ball to Marlins shortstop Jose Reyes. Reyes would botch the play and only get one out instead of two. Thanks to Reyes` miscue, Wright would come up to bat. David Wright would serve a 0-2 pitch from Mark Buehrle into deep left-center-field for a 2 run shot. This would be David`s 3rd homerun of the year and his 10th RBI. Also, with the homerun, Wright overtook Darryl Strawberry for the METS franchise record for RBIs. Congratulations David Wright. Oh yeah, the Mets were also up 2-1!
The score would remain 2-1 Mets until the 8th inning when the Mets only added to the lead.
A Ruben Tejada 1-out double would start things off. Marlins pitcher Mike Dunn would walk David Wright intentionally to face Lucas Duda with 2 outs and runners on second and third (Tejada/Wright). Duda would sharply hit the ball to Marlins rightfielder Giancarlo Stanton for a single scoring Ruben Tejada from second. However, thanks to Mike Stanton misplaying the ball, Wright would advance to third and Duda would go on to second. Mike Baxter would come on to pinch-hit for Scott Hairston (facing Ryan Webb) and would seal the win for the Mets with a 2-run double. This would mark the second 2 RBI game of the Whitestone native`s career.
Tim Byrdak would initially come in to seal the deal, but would be removed after one batter. Manny Accosta would find a way to shut the door on the Miami Marlins and preserve the Mets 5-1 lead and turn it into a victory.
R.A Dickey is now 3-1 on the season
The Mets will look for the sweep tomorrow afternoon (1:10 pm ET) at Citi Field sending out lefty Jon Niese against Marlins righty Ricky Nolasco.
LETS GO METS
