DO NOT HAVE ANY INSIDER KNOWLEDGE AND HAVE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT EACH TEAM’S STRATEGY
FROM THE PAST FEW YEARS.

This is a great job.
ReplyDeleteIf the Mets get Giolito and Roache it would be their best draft in years. I truly hope Lucas is around and he would sign with the Mets for not too much above slot. That's a lot of ifs but he has the potential to be something special. Like Strasburg special.
Sadiq.....If Strker Trahan is available at #12 i just dont see how the Mets can pass him up. An A level prospect at C is sorely needed.
ReplyDeleteI don't even think that Brian Johnson is a first rounder anymore. He hasn't been impressive lately and he doens't really have much upside. The Brewers don't need any more low-upside, quick-to-the-majors players. I don't know much about Patrick Wisdom but I think if Trey Williams is available by the time the Brewers pick, the Brewers will take him over either Wisdom or Johnson.
ReplyDeleteChris: You take Giolito there even with the need at catcher.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the warm comments! I just wanted a few things...
ReplyDeleteDoc-
I have put this draft together by noticing trends from the past few years from every single team. I just don`t see how the Brewers pick Trey Williams because he is a very risky prospect. Trey has attitude problems and already believes he is a superstar. This doesn`t sit well with many Major League teams. The Red Sox however love taking these type of players and sneaking them from the supplemental rounds from teams like the Pirates.
I`ll give you this... Brian Johnson`s stock has fallen. I still see him as a first round pick. Here is why, Johnson has power as a hitter and is also a LHP. This is intriguing to many teams because is he fails at pitching, he can become a hitter. I see the Brewers pick him because they LOVE college lefties.
Thanks for the comments and please feel free to post even more comments!
Great post, Sadiq!! Welcome to the Mack's Mets family!!! I'd LOVE to see Giolito and Roache fall to us- I'd settle for either/or!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks David! It's good to be back writing for Mack's Mets! I honestly believe that the Mets have a very good chance of selecting Roache in the supplemental round. In all the mocks thus far, he has consistently been in the 35-50 range. Had he not had hand surgery a few months ago, Roache would a shoe in for Top 10 pick. As for Giolito, anything can happen with him. Don't be surprised if he goes in the top 5 or gets nabbed in the 10-15 range. We will know much more about the draft in a few weeks. I will put more mocks up as we get closer to the draft. Thanks for the read and comments guys! It is greatly appreciated!
