this was a pretty wack mock IMO...
ReplyDeleteI can't see, if this happened, the Mets leaving Dahl on the board, but the real killer was Giolito didn't even make this dude's top 60...
what the hell is he smoking?
You think the Mets will pick Dahl? Why is that? He isn`t even that good. Brandon Nimmo- lite and will take 3-5 to develop. What are his MLB comparisons?
ReplyDeleteDavid Dahl isn't that good???
ReplyDeleteCompared to what, your dungeons and dragons score?
Aight old man, here is my Mets draft board...
ReplyDelete1. Lucas Giolito
2. Carlos Correa
3. Richie Shaffer
4. Albert Almora
5. Trey Williams
Supplemental-
1. Nick Williams
2. Tyler Naquin
I like your list...
ReplyDeletemy hopes are that Gio falls to 12 (father big time Mets fan), but he'll be throwing well before the draft... he's gone before 12
my hopes are that one of these are still around:
RHP Walker Weikel
OF Courtney Hawkins
LHP Max Fried
Supp:
Peter O'Brien
Your picks are good too, but who knows what the draft board will look like in June?
ReplyDeleteA lot of changes will happen. You both have great lists. The guys I want (in this order) who have at least a marginal chance of being around by #12 are:
ReplyDeleteMax Fried
Stryker Trahan
David Dahl (not much separates him from Buxton who could go #1)
Carlos Correa
Supplemental round I would like to see us look at Nick Williams, Clate Schmidt.
Do either of you know where Underwood is going in drafts these days? I could see the Braves nabbing him in the first round..local kid.
Too much risk with Stryker Trahan... good talent- not enough there to take him number 12.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dahl- I am not sure what the hype is all about. Come someone tell me whats so good about this kid... He gets injured in HS ball and I don`t see Byron Buxton in him.
I like Max Fried but am afraid he will turn into Jon Niese- which is not a bad thing- but someone I don`t want to produce with the 12th pick.
Clate Schmidt is good- but I can see him lasting till the 2nd round.
Also what is so good about Courtney Hawkins- I see the athleticism and the glove- but am not sure about the bat-
I wish someone can relay these prospects to the Mets b/c they never seem to get the people I want!
One thing about ths year...
ReplyDeletePaul DePo will do the picking of the first ppick. They let Chad McDonald pick Nimmo last year (and he quit the organization right after the draft).
BTW...
how about sneding your first round mock to: macksmets@gmail and we'll print it up?
Sure! I have been covering this draft just days after the last one and its amazing how much it has changed since then. I have even probably seen every single mock out there! I will create my mock draft either today or sometime early this week...
ReplyDeleteIs that OK with you Mr. Ade?
it's Mack...
ReplyDeletethat would be great...
