Kyle Zimmer‏ -

Time to do this thing one last time with the boys. Let's finish it off right

Big 12 Tournament, Game 11, Oklahoma City, OK - #28 Oklahoma 7, #3 Baylor 2 – Jonathan Gray – 7.2-IP, 6-H, 2-H6-K, 1-BB… Matt Oberste – 2-3, 2-R, 3-RBI, 2-HR… C Josh Ludy 2-3, 1-R, 2-RBI –

I caught up with Oberste (2013) after the game:

“This year has had its ups and downs. It has been a really rough year on all of us but we have overcame so many obstacles to get where we are now and the team and I are hoping to take this experience we have had all the way to Omaha. I was able to see the ball up and swing at pitches in the strike zone which makes it a lot easier on me to hit the ball.I love this team and if we can keep doing what we have been doing lately we can go a long way.”

For the season, Oberste is: .303/.388/.495, 4-HR

As a star pitcher and shortstop in high school, McCullers would often embarrass opposing hitters. There was the time he finished a game with a 100 mph fastball, the time he started a game with a 96 mph heater and then finished at 98 mph, and the time he was still throwing 95 mph in the sixth inning of a 136-pitch outing after throwing 110 pitches through five frames.

More Lance:

Although, that’s not entirely true. What McCullers could control — what he did on the mound this spring — might very well change what happens during the first day of the MLB draft. McCullers went 13-0 with a 0.18 ERA, striking out 140 batters in 77.1 innings. He didn’t allow a single earned run during the regular season and led Jesuit (28-2) to the state semifinals.

Mack:  I’m sorry. I just don’t see this kid signing.
