My Pitcher of the Night in the Coastal Plain League from June 18th is Patrick Scoggin of the Peninsula Pilots by way of Virginia Tech University. Patrick is now 2-1 this season after his masterful complete game shutout last night. He allowed just two measly hits, didn't walk a batter and he fanned 12 batters Patrick

Arkansas sophomore right-hander and likely top 2013 draftee Ryne Stanek pitched against, and beat, two-time reigning champions South Carolina on Monday night in a winners’ bracket game of the College Word Series (box). As Stanek’s 3:3 K:BB for the game suggests, he wasn’t dominant in the strictest sense; however, as the following steaming-hot GIFs make clear, Stanek’s slider isn’t the thing holding him back from total domination of both/either opposing hitters and/or the whole world. Ryne

VBL Players of the Week - South - Ryan Sullivan, Covington. Sullivan, who leads the VBL with a .487 batting average, hit a league-best .600 this past week with 12 hits in 20 at-bats. Sullivan drove in a league-high 10 runs, had a slugging percentage of 1.150 and had at least one hit in all six of the Lumberjacks contests. In the Staunton game on Saturday, the Seton Hall product was a perfect 5 for 5. Ryan

My Pitcher of the Night in the NYCBL from June 19th is Justin Ratte of the Geneva Twins by way of Flagler College. Justin pitched seven shutout innings to pick up the win last night. He scattered four hits, walked two and fanned five yesterday. Justin now has an era of 1.50 on the season. Justin
