Adam Rubin

The Mets -- who scored 11, nine and nine runs -- last posted at least nine runs in three straight games in 2006. They last did it consecutively in the same series back in 1990, when they scored 43 runs in the final three games of a four-game set against the Chicago Cubs. Dave Magadan had a six-RBI game at Wrigley Field back then.

Tomas Nido:

“As a catcher I’m really good defensively. I am able to move around really well around the plate even with a large body type. I consider myself an average hitter with good power. This year I changed my stance a bit to spread the ball more. My strengths are definitely my arm and power hitting. My weaknesses are trying to get too big with the long swing; trying to hit homers, and sometimes I get lazy. However, I have spent a lot of time working on being able to give 100 percent every game, all game, and it has paid off”

“The fun thing is we all are throwing knuckleballs during warm-up now when the coach’s aren’t looking…”

AAA – Buffalo:

Both SS Ronny Cedeno and 2B Justin Turner rehabbing tonight…

The important thing in this game was not the seven runs given up by Dylan Owen (5.23) and Jack Egbert (3.26). No, this was the first relief appearance by Jenrry Mejia went groundout, groundout, single, groundout..19 pitches, 10 strike. Last pitch at 95 shattered a bat

AA-Binghamton:

New York Mets prospect Jeff Kaplan doesn’t have a blazing fastball or any other lights-out pitch. The 26-year-old San Diego native with the 2.98 career E.R.A. just seems to get people out with focus and control. An 11th-round pick out of Cal State Fullerton in 2008, Kaplan was a starting pitcher before the Mets organization converted him. Now, he relishes the chance to pitch on any given day. Prior to going on the disabled list last month with an arm injury, Kaplan tossed 21 and 2/3 innings this season and put together a combined 3-0 record and 3.32 ERA for the St. Lucie Mets (High-A) and Binghamton Mets (AA). His ERA in Binghamton has been a solid 2.31. In a recent interview, Kaplan discussed his love of baseball, his pride in being Jewish, his eagerness to chat with fans, and his determination to play in the Majors. An edited transcript follows.

Another bad defensive game… Jenry Marte’s 10th error of the season + another rare one by Eric Campbell

RF Dustin Martin (.417) and SS Rylan Sandoval (.246) combined for 4-RBIs to take the lead in the 6th inning… RP Ryan Fraser (21.60) struck out the side in the 7th… RP Armondo Rodriguez (2.13) got his first save.

A+ - St. Lucie: -

I never will understand how an entire league can take off on a Friday night.

A – Savannah:

Same-oh, same-oh lineup…

This was all about RF Greg Pron (.228) who doubled in three runs in the 4th inning…  they added a run on a single by 1B Brian Harrison who continues to creep closer to the .300 mark (.292)… RP Jeffrey Walters (0.99) notched his 3rd save.
