Pedro - Swept ? no biggie

Hello Everyone!

Okay, so it feels like I said this same thing a few days ago, but the Mets got swept…again…ouch. But once again it’s not October yet so as hard as it seems to not expect doom and gloom let’s see how they fair against the Diamondbacks before we ensue mass panic and call for heads to roll. One positive is that MATT HARVEY is going to be on the hill tomorrow so that alone is worth getting pretty pumped about. The Mets are probably hoping to catch some serious lighting in a bottle in Harvey and a strong outing will probably go a long way to easing fans about his development being hindered by getting the call to the show.

So as bad as this stretch of baseball has been for Mets fans, imagine being a Miami Marlins fan? The amount of high hopes they had this season is the equivalent of someone giving you a brand new cute puppy and letting you play with it for a while, and then they trade your puppy for Phillies tickets (HA!). In the last 2 days they’ve parted ways with Anibal Sanchez, Omar Infante and Hanley Ramirez (Is Josh Johnson available?) To go from expected contenders to fire sale in one season is a bit rough, so maybe being a Mets fan isn’t all that rough this season it can obviously get worse

So if I would have told my dad that heading into August that the Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles would be contenders this season, he would have smacked me and told me that we don’t talk about 1979 in our household. But I do believe it is time to start sipping the Kool- Aid and believe that both of the aforementioned teams are going to be in the hunt until October. As much as I have a distain for Pittsburgh Sports, the Pirates were those lovable losers of my generation considering that I was 2 years old when they had their last winning season so it’s good for baseball to see the Bucs playing meaningful ball for once. I guess their fans loyalty should be rewarded with one magical year. As far as the O’s go I was 7 when they had their last meaningful season, so it’s also good to see them winning games in real life instead of my MLB 2k franchise mode , so golf claps for the Bucs and O’s boys and girls.

Inconclusion, don’t be so depressed about the Mets “Fade” in the 2nd half because. Well it could be worse; you could be a Marlins fan.  And when you’re a Marlins fan you trade Matt Dominguez for Carlos lee. Don’t trade Matt Dominguez for Carlos lee. Enjoy the second half and the influx of young blood the Mets will be calling upon and there is always the feel good stories to keep tabs on so here’s to a Fine start from MATT HARVEY tomorrow and LETS GO METS!!!
