Sandy Alderson said in his press
conference on Wednesday: "we need an infusion of players, productive
players."
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha.
Matt Harvey
I’m not exactly sure what fans are
supposed to be rooting for right now. Me? Well, I really don’t care about the
outcome of the game, nor do I think the offense offers any chance for something
to write about. This is not a team that is going to win a game with a score
like 14-1. Not going to happen with this crew.
What I care about the 2014 kids and
that means on Wednesday night I cared about Matt Harvey. He pitched six
innings, gave up one run, three hits, struck out nine, and walked two. Pitch
count was 102-63, which was a little too loose. Still, I’ll take stats like
this all day.
Ramon Ramirez
Exactly what are the Mets trying to
accomplish here? Do the Mets really want to pay Ramirez at least another
$2.65mil a year for results like this? And while we’re on the subject, isn’t
this critical time that a young pitcher could be on the mound getting some
exposure. Couldn’t the Mets be better serves with Chris
Schwinden, or Jenrry Mejia, or even Jeurys Familia throwing a few innings after Matt
Harvey’s six?
It sounds like the minor league flood
gates are going to open. Rob Johnson was moved
to the DL, leaving three options for the Mets to add names to the 25-man,
through the 40-man. This sounds more confusing than getting Tarp money freed
up. Anyway, it’s anyone’s guess at this point, but mine are Jenrry Mejia, Zach Lutz, and Fred
Lewis.
What are yours?
'The War Room'/'The Draft Room'
I've suspended 'The War Room' for Sundays. David Rubin tried to put up with the anonymous jerks while I was in the hospital but even he had enough halfway through the day.
In addition, there is no war. The only thing the Mets are currently fighting with is themselves. We'll reinstate 'The War Room' after the 2013 Draft.
Until the, Sundays, beginning at 8am, will be 'The Draft Room'.
This week, I am posting up my first personal first round draft and we'll spend the day talking about prospects.
That's Sunday... 8am... 'The Draft Room'.

Meija and Lutz are already on the 40 man roster
ReplyDeleteChris Schwinden is a very good AAA pitcher, not much else.
ReplyDeleteSchwinden would be perfect to pitch 2-3 innings every 3-4 days as a "long man" for the remainder of this year and save wear and tear on the young arms like Edgin (5 appearances in last six games)
