FLASH - Mets Release Jason Bay


and Jason Bay have worked out an agreement that makes him an unconditional free agent. Bay Era in Flushing is over...  did not announce terms of buyout but Bay owed $19M between 2013 salary ($16M) and 2014 buyout ($3M), so it's probably lge pct of that...

Bay is getting all $21M he is owed, the $16M salary, the $3M buyout and the $2M left on a signing bonus. Some is being deferred...

    looks like Mets worked out deal to defer $$$ so they more to spend for 2013...
