New Potential Targets

Recent moves by the Toronto Blue Jays have placed some interesting names on the Waiver Wire. The Jays designated 1B Mike McDade, UT Mike McCoy and RP Cory Wade (whom the Jays claimed last month off of waivers from the New York Yankees) for assignment today in order to create space for SS Ryan Goins and C A.J. Jimenez on the 40 man roster.

Wade immediately stands out as a target for the Mets bullpen. Forget the fact that the man posted a 6.46 ERA for just a moment. The right-hander posted 8.8 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 rates will the New York Yankees this year which show that he possibly has very good value as a 7th or even 8th inning guy. Taking him out of Yankee Stadium and placing him in Citi Field certainly would help.

McDade is the other interesting target. The 23 yr old had a triple slash line of .285/.360/.445 with 17 HR's 67 RBI's in AAA last season. The 23 yr old former 6th round pick is a switch hitter and could be an extremely valuable bench piece for Terry Collins.
