Owen, Cohoon, McHugh, Schwinden, Gorski
Projected AA – Montero, Tapia, deGrom, Pill,
Huchington, Verrett, Teufel, Cuan, Peavey, Goeddel
That’s 17 starters for two teams (not counting
the 2 on the DL) and now there are 18?
Please help me out… I do this for a living and
I have no idea what’s going on here
Well, I pulled off my first Google+ webcast... sort of.
It started at 8pm last night and i had one guest, Metsmusings Mack. We talked for about a half an hour when I noticed one of my contributors, Eric Hudson come in the room. Just then, my computer shut down, informing me that my Windows program was shutting down for reconfiguration and an update. I felt so Jay Horwitz-like. By the time I got back up, everyone moved on and the show was over.
I'll give it another shot next week.

The Mets rotation seems to change hourly. As
of now, Santana is out, Mejia is not an option for 6-8 weeks, Marcum is 7-10
days away, Heffner dodged a big one, and Laffey is the emergency SP6. The Mets
don’t need a fifth starter until the 9th game, April 10th.
If you spot start that with, say Laffey, you don’t need Marcum until April 16th.
The last game before the all-star break is July 14th. Everything
changes then.
Now I hear Marcum may go on the DL and the Mets are trying to trade their "non-prospect" members of the 40-man (Gonzalez Germen, Darin Gorski, Reese Havens, Juan Lagares, Cesar Puello, Elvin Ramirez, and Hansel Robles).

What do they expect to get for these players other than some other team's 'almost prospects'?
And how would you like to be either Puello or Lagares and find out the Mets don't want you even though you are an outfielder?
I’m no a big fan of this time of the
pre-season year. Most players have already been picked for the 25-man and teams
tend to use minor leaguers so no one gets hurt (though Heffner still did). The
kids get a chance to impress, but a bad outing can set them back their whole
career. I am sure that P Randy Fontanez wishes
today that the WBC was still on: 0.0-IP, 5-ER, 3-BB, ‘infinite’-ERA. On the
upside, Armando Rodriguez (2.0-IP, 0-R), Hamilton Bennett (1.0-IP, 0-R), Darrell Cecilliani (1-1, .667), and Matt Reynolds (1-1, 1.000) did good.
