Rotations Projections:

AAA-Las Vegas

1.         Zack Wheeler (23) – RHP – one of the top 10 prospects in baseball – A rating – 92-96, 98 with sink…curve, changeup… ETA: 2013 rotation

2.         Jenrry Mejia (23) – RHP – 5/yr minor league stats: 16-14, 2.95, 1.21 – has had control issues + Mets converted to relief for one year – TJS – only 6-0, mid-90s, CUwith sink – ETA: 2014 rotation or trade

3.         Gonzalez Germen (25) – RHP – pitched Binghamton in 2012: 8-12, 4.59, 1.34, 119.2-IP, 97-K – excellent change-up - ETA: 2014 pen or AAAA

4.         Darin Gorski (25) – LHP – 88-90 FB, + 10-6 curve, being considered for LOOGY beause of his cross body deliveries to lefties.  4-yr pro stats: 29-23, 3.68, 1.23. ETA:  2014 pen or AAAA

5.         Jeremy Hefner (27) – RHP – Heffner was picked up on waivers last year by the Mets and pitched in 26 games for the parent club (4-7, 5.09) – 90-92 FB, 89-91 sinker, 73-76 slow curve – ETA: emergency starter for Mets waiting for phone to ring

AA-Binghamton

1.         Rafael Montero (22) – RHP – Highest ceiling in organization – minor league career stats: 15-8, 2.42, 1.01, 175-IP, 156-K, 32-BB – mid 90s FB, up to 98, excellent command and secondary pitchers. Conservative ETA: 2015 Rotation

2.         Cory Mazzoni (23) – RHP – 2nd Rd. 2011  - 2-yr pro: 12-7, 3.70, 1.30, 88-92, 95 FB, curve…relies on control,  lack of height projects him eventually to pen. ETA:  Trade

3.         Tyler Pill (23) – RHP – 4th Rd 2011 – excellent pro stats so far: 10-5, 2.43, 1.16, 122-IP, 115-K, 25-BB – low-90s FB, deceptive delivery, late release, curve, change, slider  - ETA: Trade

4.         Chase  Huchingson – LHP – NDFA 2010 – 2012 St. Lucie stats: 8-7, 4.10, 120.2-IP, 102-K – sits at 93, but very little movement – ETA – could have difficulty  at this level

A+ - St. Lucie

1.         Noah Syndergaard (20) – RHP – top 50 prospect in baseball – projected SP2 – 3-yr pro stats: 13-8, 2.35, 1.09, 103,2-IP, 122-K – 92-94 FB, + curve – 6-7, 200 – ETA: 2015 Mets Rotation

2.         Domingo Tapia (21) – RHP – UDFA –incredible velocity, sits at 98, hits 100 consistently, 97-slider – needs to work on control – ETA: trade or 2016 Mets closer

3.         Luis Mateo (23) – RHP – UDFA – played under different name, then with incorrect age – 2012 was first legitimate year, at Brooklyn: 4-5, 2.47, 0.90, 73.1-IP, 85-K, only 9-BB – 91-94 fastball, power slider – should jump Savannah to catch up with his class – ETA: 2016 Rotation

4.         Michael Fulmer (20) – RHP – 1st Rd. 2011 – 2012 with Savannah: 7-6, 2.74, 1.20, 108.1-IP, 101-K, 38-BB – highly touted H.S. pitcher – 6-3, 200 – 89-94, 98, slider, CU – ETA: 2016 Rotation or trade

5.         Jake deGrom (25) – RHP – 9th Rd 2009 – TJS victim (sat out 2011) came back big time last season – combined A/A+ - 9-3, 2.43, 111.1-IP, 96-K. Fastball sits at 94. ETA: trade

6.         Logan Verrett (23) – RHP – 3rd Rd. 2011 – excellent beginning of pro career: 17-starts, 5-2, 2.68, 0.96, 104-IP, 93-K, only 13-BB – 88-93, 95… + slider and + changeup… another intermediate prospect with no place to go – ETA: trade

A – Savannah

1.         Rainy Lara (22) – RHP - UDFA -2012 Brooklyn: 8-3, 2.91, 0.96, 77-K, 68.0-IP - + CU, curve, low-90 FB – old for level being pitched – ETA: trade

2.         Gabriel Ynoa (20) – RHP - UDFA – 2012 Brooklyn: 5-2, 2.23, 0.93, 76.2-IP, 64-K, 10-BB – ¾ slot, 89-92 FB, 76-83 slider, 89-90 CU – ETA: 2016 Rotation or trade

3.         Luis Cessa (21) – RHP - UDFA – 2012 Brooklyn: 5-4, 2.49, 1.06, 72.1-IP, 44-K, 13-BB – control pitcher – low-90s FB, curve, changeup – ETA: TBD

4.         Julian Hilario (22) – UDFA – 2012 Brooklyn: 4-4, 3.23, 1.47, 55.2-IP, 45-K, 20-BB – least successful of the ‘Cyclone Five’ from 2012 – FB tops off at 90 – secondary pitchers need work – ETA: TBD

    A) What about Schwinny?? Remember his merry go round ended up being him back with us.

    B)Where does Alex Pants go? Gotta believe he's in St. Lucie as well. Bullpen I'm assuming.

    C) IMO Huchingson is bullpen bound with Goeddel (with his face in one piece) and Peavey rounding out the binghamton rotation.

  2. I've got some changes coming up by the end of this...

    Schwinden will be one of many candidates for a AAA slot.

    Sadly, I see 'Johnny Pants' being blocked and have him repeating (24 yrs old?) at Savannah.

    Hutch will be up soon, though you might be right about the pen too.
