51s vs. Grizzlies: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team will face the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, tonight in the finale of the four-game series and eight-game road trip in Pacific Coast League action at Chukchansi Park (12,500)…Las Vegas is 4-3 on the season-opening Northern California road trip (3-1 vs. Sacramento; 1-2 vs.
Fresno)…the 51s will return to Cashman Field tomorrow evening for the “home” opener against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, at 7:05 p.m....the four-game series will conclude on Monday, April 15.
Fresno defeats Las Vegas 6-3 for second straight victory: The Grizzlies defeated the 51s 6-3 last night in game three of the four-game series before a crowd of 4,054 at Chukchansi Park.
Las Vegas offense: The 51s recorded 8 hits and first baseman Josh Satin was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Catcher Landon Powell was 2-for-3,
walk, solo home run in the fifth inning and third baseman Reese Havens was 2-for-4
Fresno offense: The Grizzlies recorded 8 hits and built a 6-0 lead after four innings. Second baseman Kensuke Tanaka was 2-for-4, double, RBI, run scored; first baseman Brett Pill was 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first inning and left fielder Cole Gillespie was 1-for-3, walk, solo
