51s  vs. River Cats: The Las Vegas 51s  professional baseball team will open a four-game series tonight against division-rival, the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s, in Pacific Coast League action at Cashman Field (9,334)…Las Vegas is 1-3 on its first “homestand” of the season (1-3 vs. Colorado Springs)…the series and the eight-game homestand against the River Cats will conclude on Friday evening…Las Vegas will then open a brief four-game road trip at Colorado Springs, Colo., on Saturday, April 20 against the Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies…the series will run through Tuesday, April 23.



Colorado Springs defeats Las Vegas 19-5 in series finale: The Sky Sox defeated the 51s
 19-5 last night in the finale of the four-game series before a crowd of 2,539 at
Cashman Field.

Las Vegas offense: The 51s  recorded 10 hits and third baseman Wilmer Flores was 3-for-5, run scored; center fielder Juan Lagares was 2-for-5, triple, 2 RBI; right fielder Andrew Brown was 2-for-5, double and catcher Travis d’Arnaud was 1-for-2, three walks and a two-run home run
in the seventh inning.

Colorado Springs offense: The Sky Sox recorded 18 hits and built a 10-3 lead after 5 ½ innings. First baseman Ben Paulsen was 3-for-5, double, HR, 5 RBI; third baseman Ryan Wheeler was 3-for-3, double, 3 RBI, two runs scored; center fielder Charlie Blackmon was 2-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, three walks, five runs scored and second baseman Charlie Culberson was 2-for-7, grand slam.

Las Vegas pitching: Right-hander Chris Schwinden suffered the loss. He pitched 3.2 innings and allowed 7 hits, 8 runs (4 earned), walked 4 and struck out 4.

51s  Bullpen: Right-hander Armando Rodriguez pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and struck out 2. Left-handers Justin Hampson (1.0/2 R) and Adam Kolarek (2 IP/5 R) pitched three innings and right-hander Eric Campbell pitched the ninth inning (four runs)
