Mets Minor League Report – April 24

Savannah (11-8) stomps Delmarva (11-9) 9-1
Matt Bowman (W, 3-0) notched his third victory without a loss, going 6.0 innings. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, no walks and 4 strikeouts.
Beck (the other) Wheeler pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing 1 hit and a walk, with 4 strikeouts. The hit was the first Wheeler has given up this young season, over 5 relief appearances covering 8.2 innings. Needless to say, he has not yet allowed a run.
Jayce Boyd: 2-2, 2B, 3 BB, 2 RBI, 2 R, now hitting a league leading .411.
Jeffrey Glenn: 3-5, HR, 3 RBI, R.
Kevin Plawecki: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI.
Eudy Pina: 3-4, 2B, BB, 3 R.

Binghamton (11-9)  tops Portland (11-8) 8-6
Today Binghamton jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first 2 innings, (it seemed like déjà vu all over again, to quote Yogi) but this time held on for the win.
 Starter Tyler Pill: 4.0 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K.
John Church: (W, 1-3) got his first win of the season with 1.1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K.
Jeff Walters (S, 6) closed it out with 2 scoreless innings: 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K.
Alonzo Harris: 2-5, 2 R, SB. Harris now leads the Eastern League with 9 stolen bases this season.
Darrell Ceciliani: 1-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R.
Josh Rodriguez: 2-5, 2B, RBI, 2 R.
Allan Dykstra: 1-4, HR, BB, 3 RBI, R.
Cory Vaughn: 2-5, 2B, RBI, SB. Vaughn has his average up to .300 for the year.
