Mets Minor League Report – April 28

Savannah (15-8) shades West Virginia (9-15) 3-2
Starter Matthew Koch: 3.2 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 1 K
Tyler Vanderheiden (W, 1-0) pitched the 9th and got the win. His line: 0 R, H, BB, K.
Cole Frenzel (3-4) scored 1 of Savannah’s 3 runs and knocked in the other 2. The game ended with Frenzel’s walk off 2 out single  in the bottom of the 9th.

The Gnats are in a bit of a funk these days, offensively, but they seem to be producing just enough to win.

St Lucie (15-8) wallops Tampa (10-13) 9-2
Noah Syndergaard (W, 1-0) lived up to his advance billing, going 7.0 innings, allowing only 1 R, 0 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 7 K..

Dustin Lawley: 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R.
Travis Taijeron: 1-3, 2B, BB, 2RBI, R.

Akron (10-13) over Binghamton (12-11) 7-5
B-Met pitchers were homer prone tonight, and the long ball was their undoing. Akron scored their final 5 runs on a 2 run shot and 3 solo bombs. Binghamton tried to Match Akron with two 2 run homers in the bottom of the 6th, one by Josh Rodriguez and one by Cory Vaughn, to tie the score, but it just wasn’t enough.

No highlights here. Las Vegas’ 7 hits were spread among 7 players.
