LAST GAME: The B-Mets came up on the short end of a pitcher’s duel and fell to the New Britain Rock Cats, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon. They were limited to six hits in the series finale. After waiting through a 70-minute rain delay to start the game, the B-Mets threatened but failed to break through over the first five innings. Binghamton put seven on base on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman, but went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and stranded six in the process. Mark Cohoon breezed through the first four innings. He needed just 37 pitches and allowed two singles through four scoreless frames. His one mistake came in the fifth, when Danny Ortiz ripped a homer to right to lead off the inning. The one-run was enough for New Britain starter Logan Darnell. He held the B-Met offense at bay, and threw eight scoreless innings. Michael Tonkin relieved Darnell and finished the shut out. Cohoon took the loss, although he threw the first complete game of the season.
