LAST GAME: The B-Mets used a four-run seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie, as they topped the Altoona Curve, 8-5 Tuesday night. Darrell Ceciliani led the offense with three RBI, including a two-run double to give Binghamton the lead in the sixth inning. Josh Rodriguez singled to right-centerfield in the seventh to give the B-Mets the lead for the final time. Allan Dykstra went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. He now has four extra base hits in his last two games. Adam Kolarek earned his first Double-A victory of the season on the mound, and Jack Leathersich finished the game with a five-out save. The B-Mets have now won four consecutive games, and are in sole possession of the Eastern Division lead.

BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: LHP Mark Cohoon makes his sixth start of the season for the B-Mets. In his last start, 5/23 @ NBR, Cohoon threw a complete game but landed on the short end of a 1-0 pitchers duel. The lone run he gave up was a solo home run by Danny Ortiz in the fifth inning. The lefty struck out seven and scattered six hits in the loss. In May, Cohoon has a 2.78 ERA, and opponents are hitting .265 against him this month. His first two wins of the season came as a reliever. This is his fourth season playing with the B-Mets.

ALTOONA STARTING PITCHER: RHP Jameson Taillon makes his 11th start of the season for the Curve. He earned the win in his last start, 5/24 v RIC, where he allowed one run in five innings. In four starts on the road this season he is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA, and in May he is 1-3. In 2012, he was promoted to Double-A late in the season, and he won each of his three starts. He allowed three runs in 17.0 innings, but did not pitch against Binghamton. Prior to the 2013 season, Taillon was ranked the #2 prospect in the Pirate organization according to Baseball America. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him as the second overall pick (behind Bryce Harper) in the 2010 draft out of The Woodlands HS (TX).

30 WINS BEFORE JUNE: 52 games is the fastest Binghamton has reached 30 wins since they did it in 47 games in 2004. This is the fourth season in franchise history that they have gotten 30 wins before June 1st. In each of the previous three (‘92, ‘94, ‘04), the team has made the postseason. The B-Mets won the EL Championship in 1992 and 1994

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: In 2013, Binghamton is 15-11 at NYSEG Stadium. They are 8-1 in their last nine games at home, and have scored 61 runs during that stretch. The B-Mets are also 15-11 on the road this season.

FOUR-GAME WINNING STREAK: Binghamton has won four straight games for the second time in 2013. Their longest winning streak of the season is five games, winning from 5/12 - 5/17.

THE LETHEL LEFTY: Jack Leathersich struck out five of the six batters he faced for a five-out save on Tuesday. That is the most strikeouts for a B-Met relief pitcher this season, and he has now struck out 45 batters in 24.1 innings.

STRIKEOUT NUMBERS RISING: During this four-game winning streak, Binghamton has struck out at least 11 batters in every game. In 2013 the B-Met pitching staff has 451 strikeouts, ranking them second in the league in that category.

LONG BALL: The B-Mets have hit at least one home run in each of the last five games. They have hit 34 in 2013, tying them for the seventh most in the league.

RODRIGUEZ’S STREAK: Josh Rodriguez went 1-for-4 on Tueday, extending his season-long hitting streak to 14 games. During the streak, he is hitting .442 (23-for-52). Six of those games have been multiple-hit games, and Rodriguez has knocked in 14 runs during that stretch.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets conclude their seven-game homestand with a 10:35 AM game against Altoona on Thursday. RHP Cory Mazzoni will start for the B-Mets against RHP Stolmy Pimentel.
