Savannah (25-19) bows to Charleston (26-17) 4-2.
Savannah starter Rainy Lara (L, 4-2) lasted only 4.2 innings, giving up 3 R, 2 ER on 7 H and 1 BB, while striking out 4, in taking the loss. With the 2 earned runs, Lara’s ERA went up to 1.42.
Reliever Beck Wheeler continued his strong showing for Savannah, going 2.2 scoreless innings (2 H, 0 BB, 4 K) lowering his ERA to 1.37.
Kevin Plawecki: 3-5, RBI.

Dunedin (26-17) tops St Lucie (25-19) 5-3.
Starter Noah Syndergaard (L, 2-2) took the loss to even his record. In 5.2 innings he allowed 4 R, (3 ER) 7 H, 2 BB, 4 K.
DH Charley Thurber went 2-4 with a HR, 2 RBI, and 2 R.

Binghamton (25-20) bests New Britain (21-25) 8-3.
Starter Eric Goeddell (W, 4-2) went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 ER on 5 H, and 3 BB, with 3 K.
Jack Leathersich pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. He gave up a hit, but no BB’s, while striking out 3, a good sign for Jack the K-K-K-Killer.
Darrell Ceciliani went 2-4, scoring 2 runs. He also had a SB, his 9th.
Allan Dykstra: 2-4, BB, RBI, 2 R.
Josh Rodriguez: 3-4, 2B, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Cory Vaughn: 2-5, R, and an outfield assist, throwing out a runner attempting to score.

Las Vegas (21-23) trims Iowa (18-25) 9-4
51’s starter Zack Wheeler (W, 3-1) allowed 3 ER on 5 H (2 HR) and 2 BB, striking out 2. Egad! Vegas is a tough place for a pitcher.
Newly signed David Aardsma pitched a scoreless, hitless 9th, although he walked 3 while striking out the side.
Josh Edgin pitched a scoreless 8th, allowing but 1 hit.
Francisco Pena: 2-4, had a HR for the second day in a row, 3 RBI, R.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis: 1-3, HR and 2 BB, RBI, 3 R. Perhaps this will help Kirk to shake his slump and beat a quick return to Citifield.
Collin Cowgill: 1-5, GSHR, 4 RBI, R
Omar Quintanilla: 2-2, 3B, 2 BB, 3 R.
