Mets Minor League Report – May 29

Greenville (15-37) over Savannah (30-21) 5-1.

Robert Gsellman (L, 2-2) gets pasted, 5 R, 10 H, (HR) BB, 2 K, in 6.0 innings.

No offense = no highlights

Jupiter (27-23) tops St Lucie (28-21) 4-1, completing suspended game from 5/28.

Noah Syndergaard pitched 2.1 perfect innings (with 2 K) prior to the game being suspended yesterday.

When play resumed today, Jim Fuller went 3.2 innings, allowing 1 R on 3 H and 2 BB. He was followed by Jeurys Familia, (L, 0-1) who gave up 1 R on 1 H and 1 BB in 1.0 innings, for the loss.

Matt Reynolds had a 3B in 4 AB, scoring the Mets’ only run, and Travis Taijeron had a 2B in 3 AB, for St. Lucie’s only XBH’s.

In the regularly scheduled game, St Lucie (28-21) leads Jupiter (27-23) 7-4

The game is currently in a rain delay during the top of the 7^th inning.

Alex Pantaliodis pitched the first 5.0 innings, and is in line for the win if the Mets can hold the lead. He allowed 3 R, (none earned) 4 H, 2 BB, 1K.

Hamilton Bennett pitched a scoreless 6^th inning with 2 H. and 2 BB. Ryan Fraser has allowed 1 R on 2 H with 1 out in the top of the 7^th, when the game was halted.

Robbie Shields: 3-3, 2B, BB, 2 RBI, R.

Dustin Lawley: 2-4, HR, 2 B, 3 RBI, 2 R.

Travis Taijeron: 2-4, 2B, R.

Aderlin Rodriguez: 3-4.

Altoona (21-31) trims Binghamton (30-23) 8-4.

Mark Cohoon went 5.0 innings, allowing 4 R, on 5 H, BB, with 6 K.

Reliever Chase Hutchingson (L, 2-1) allowed one unearned run on 2 H with 3 K in 2.0 innings, taking the loss.

Allan Dykstra: 1-3, HR, BB, 3 RBI, R.

Josh Rodriguez: 1-2, 2 B, 2 BB, R.

Cory Vaughn: 2-4.

At the time of this writing, Las Vegas (24-26) leads Reno (21-32) 7-0 after 6 innings.

Carlos Torres, is pitching a 2 hit shutout with 7K. Since May 8, when I said I thought it was time to give up on Torres, in 3+ games, he is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis: 1-2, 2B, 2 BB, 3 R. In his last 10 games, Capt. Kirk’s slash line is .243/.364/.649/1.012.

Collin Cowgill: 2-3, 2B, R.

Josh Satin: 3-4, 4 RBI.

Wilmer Flores: 1-3, 2B, RBI.

Brian Bixler: 2-3, RBI, R.

Omar Quintanilla: 1-1, RBI. Quintanilla, now hitting .333, was replaced by Brian Bixler in the top of the 4^th inning, a sign that Omar will be playing SS for the Mets in Yankee Stadium tomorrow night, while Ruben Tejada will be seeing the sights of Sin City when the sun next sets.
