LAST GAME: Josh Rodriguez hit a walk-off double to cap a come-from-behind, 6-5 10th inning win against the Erie SeaWolves Saturday night. Binghamton scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game, 5-5. Rhyne Hughes blasted a three-run home run with two outs which tied it. Jeff Walters finished a scoreless top of the tenth inning on the mound, and picked up his fourth Double-A win of the season. For the second consecutive game, Binghamton scored first and Erie responded with five unanswered runs. Wilfredo Tovar also had three hits in the win.

BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: RHP Noah Syndergaard makes his Double-A debut with the B-Mets. He was promoted from St. Lucie (High-A) today after going 3-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 13 starts in the Florida State League. 

Syndergaard is in his first season in the New York Met organization. He was traded from Toronto in December 2012 along with Travis d’Arnaud, John Buck,  and Wuillmer Buccera for R.A. Dickey, Mike Nickeas, and Josh Thole. Syndergaard is 20 years old, and is the youngest player to play for the B-Mets this season. Before the 2013 season, he was ranked as the second top prospect in the Blue Jay organization (behind d’Arnaud) according to Baseball America. Syndergaard was drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round (supplemental) out of Legacy HS (TX).

ERIE STARTING PITCHER: LHP Matt Crouse makes his 12th start for the SeaWolves, and his second against the B-Mets. On April 30th @ Binghamton, he got a no-decision after allowing two runs in 3.2 innings. Crouse has lost each of his last two decisions on the mound. He began the season as a reliever, and went 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in six games. As a starter, Crouse is 2-5 with a 4.39 ERA. Opponents are hitting .261 against him this season. On the road in 2013, he is 1-3 with a 4.55 ERA in seven games. In 67.1 innings, he has stuck out 56 batters and walked 20. The Tigers selected Crouse in the 24th round in 2010 out of the University of Mississippi.

COMEBACK KIDS: Binghamton trailed by four runs in the bottom of the ninth before rallying to win the game in the 10th. The four-run deficit matches the largest comeback this season.

ONE RUN GAMES: Binghamton is now 13-7 in one-run games in 2013. They are 5-1 in their last six one-run games, and they have four walk-off wins this season.

WALK-OFF WINNERS: Josh Rodriguez’s ground-rule double gave the B-Mets their fourth walk-off win this season. Their last one came June 16 vs. Bowie when Joe Bonfe hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Baysox, 5-4.

WELCOME BACK: Rhyne Hughes played in his first game since April 18 Saturday night. He went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run to tie the game in the ninth inning. He was on the disabled list for 49 games with left bicep tendonitis.

RUBBER MATCH: Sunday will be the tenth rubber game of the season for the B-Mets. They are 7-2 in those games, and have won seven in a row after losing their first two. Binghamton has won eight consecutive series, and have not lost a series since May 6-8 (@ TRN).

LEFT ON BASE: In the first two games of this series, Binghamton has left a combined seven men on base. Erie has stranded 17 men on base in those games.

FREE BASEBALL: After the 10th inning win on Saturday, Binghamton is now 2-2 in extra inning games. They have not played more than 10 innings in 2013.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets hit the road for a three-game series at Hadlock Field to take on the Portland Sea Dogs. The first game of the series is Monday night at 7:00 PM. Binghamton sends RHP Erik Goeddel to the mound to face RHP Anthony Ranaudo.
