LAST GAME: Erik Goeddel struck out seven shutout innings to earn his seventh win as the B-Mets defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 3-0. Goeddel did not face more than four batters in any inning, and he has now won seven straight decisions. Offensively, the B-Mets were led by Cesar Puello who had two hits and two RBI. The other run came home on an RBI single by Xorge Carrillo. After turning to the bullpen, Pedro Feliciano threw a scoreless eighth inning. Jeff Walters stuck out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning, and sealed his 18th victory of the season.
 
BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: LHP Darin Gorski makes his third start of the season with the B-Mets. He beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels on June 19 after allowing one run and three hits over 5.0 innings. He also struck out a season-high seven hitters. Both of his previous starts have been on the road, and he has allowed two runs in nine combined innings. He began 2013 with Las Vegas (AAA), and went 1-1 in four games (three starts). Gorski spent all of 2012 with Binghamton (AA). In 24 games, he went 9-8 with a 4.00 ERA. In five games against Portland, Gorski went 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA. 

PORTLAND STARTING PITCHER: RHP Keith Couch pitches in his 18th game, and his fourth start of the season. He became a starter on June 8, and has gone 2-0 in his first three starts. In three appearances against Binghamton as a reliever this year, Couch is 2-1. At home this season, Couch has a 4.70 ERA in 30.2 innings. In June, Couch has a 2-0 record with a 3.20 ERA in 19.2 innings. Opponents are hitting .288 against the righty this season, and has struck out 53 batters in 54.0 innings. He was drafted by the Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2010 draft out of Adelphi University.

SHUT OUT: Erik Goeddel, Pedro Feliciano, and Jeff Walters combined for the fifth shutout of the season on Monday. The previous shutout was also thrown by Goeddel; they beat Trenton 8-0 back on June 4. Binghamton has been on the losing end of shutouts four times this season. 

19 OVER .500: Binghamton currently has the best record in the Eastern League. They are 47-28, and are 19 games over .500 for the first time since August 28, 2004 (76-57). They lead Portland and Trenton by 9.0 games each, which is their biggest division lead of the season.

JUNE STATS: The B-Mets are 16-4 in the month of June. They are outscoring their opponents, 108-61. The pitching staff has an ERA of 2.68. Erik Goeddel is 3-0 in four starts this month, and has a 1.08 ERA. Cesar Puello has paced the offense with a .481 batting average. He also has seven home runs and 20 RBI. Allan Dykstra has 19 RBI, Danny Muno has 14, and Travis Taijeron has 12.

STOLEN BASES: In their last 14 games, Binghamton has only stolen five bases. On Monday, Portland passed them for the most stolen bases in the league (84). Binghamton has 82 this season.  

BULLPEN NUMBERS:  Over the last 22 games, the Binghamton bullpen has only allowed a run in seven games. During that time, the bullpen ERA has dropped from 3.68 (May 30) to its current point at 3.14. Pedro Feliciano has allowed no runs and one hit in his four appearances. Jeff Walters leads the league with 18 saves in 20 chances. Adam Kolarek has only allowed one run in his last 14 appearances, and has a 1.60 ERA this season.

LOOKING FOR THE SERIES WIN: A win on Tuesday would give the B-Mets their 10th straight series win. They have either won or split the last 13 series, and have not lost a series since May 6-8 when they went 1-2 at Trenton.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: Binghamton rounds out the three-game series against Portland Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. RHP Cory Mazzoni throws for the B-Mets against LHP Drake Britton. That will be the final game between these two teams at Hadlock Field in the regular season.
