Castle ‏@TheACastle  - Another HS kid I love in this draft is Clinton Hollon 6'1 skinny righty with a nice 4-pitch mix, projects as possible plus fastball..

Hunter Harvey has prepared his entire life and baseball career for Thursday night. The Bandys senior pitcher is likely to hear his named called that night during the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. The event is being televised at 6 p.m. on the MLB Network. LINK

Perhaps the one player making it the most difficult to figure out the first round is Sean Manaea. Once thought to be a potential No. 1 pick, the big, hard-throwing lefty struggled for much of this season, a hip flexor the biggest issue. Given his health issues, he has a big question mark around his name right now, making figuring out a mock draft really tough. You’ll see I put him 19th (Cardinals), but that’s not based on any solid information. I just felt someone would roll the dice on Manaea and St. Louis hasn’t shied away from taking college pitching that slides to them later in the round. LINK

California is usually a hotbed of baseball talent, and once again the state is rich on MLB Draft prospects, including high school right-hander Phil Bickford. The 6'4 Bickford has an electric arm, with his fastball clocked in the mid-to-upper 90s at times. While most scouts describe his secondary offerings as raw at best, Bickford has upside with an electric fastball and an ideal frame to go along with it. He's committed to Cal State Fullerton, but is a consensus top-50 prospect in the draft.  LINK
