Mets Minor League Report – June 9

Las Vegas (33-28) rips Tacoma (38-26) 7-1.
What in the world has happened to Carlos Torres? (W, 6-2) His 2nd consecutive complete game, this one a 2 hitter, allowing 1 R. In his last 6 games he has 5 wins and a no-decision, with an ERA of 1.65 and a WHIP of 0.687. In the PCL? The pitchers nightmare? Pinch me to see if I am awake.
Wilmer Flores: 3-4, BB, RBI, R.
Brandon Hicks: 1-3, GSHR, BB, 4 RBI, R.
Eric Campbell: 1-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI, 2 R.
Brian Bixler: 2-4, 2B, BB, R.

Binghamton (38-25) tops Altoona (25-37) 5-2.
A strong start for Jacob deGrom: (no decision) 7.0 IP, 2 R, 6 H, BB, K.
Jack Leathersich (W, 2-0) pitched the 8th: 1.0 IP, 0 R, H, BB, 2 K.
Jeff Walters (S, 15) pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 15th save.
Travis Taijeron seems intent on proving that his promotion to AA was deserved: 2-4, HR, 4 RBI, R, in his second game with Binghamton.
Allan Dykstra: 3-4, HR, RBI, 2 R.

Jupiter (32-28) finally edges St Lucie (30-29) 2-1 in completion of 6/7 game.
Jupiter scored a run in the bottom of the 8th to win this make-up of a game postponed on June 7, resumed yesterday, then halted, and finally completed today.
Angel Cuan pitched 5 innings prior to Friday's stoppage in play: 1 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 4 K.
Jim Fuller: 2.0 innings, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K.
Randy Fontanez (L, 4-5) gave up a run on a hit, to take the loss.
The St. Lucie offense was a no show.

St Lucie (31-29) whacks Jupiter (32-29) 4-1 with 3 in the top of the 14th.
In the regularly scheduled game, starter Matt Bowman: 6.0 IP, 1 R, 6 H, 3 BB, 4 K.
Five Lucie relievers, T.J. Chism, (2.0 IP, H, BB, K) Hamilton Bennett, (2.0 IP, H, BB) Carlos Vazquez, (2.0 IP, H, BB, 3 K) Estarlin Morel, (W, 4-2) (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 BB) and Chase Bradford, (S, 3) (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, K) held the Hammerheads scoreless over the remaining 8 innings.
The Mets got virtually all their offense from the 6-7-8 hitters in the lineup:
Charley Thurber: 3-6, 2B, R.
Robbie Shields: 2-6, RBI.
Cam Maron: 3-4, 2 BB, RBI, R.
In the 14th inning, with none out and the bases loaded, a ground out by Thurber and singles by Shields and Maron plated the 3 runs St. Lucie scored, to win it.

Rome (34-28) comes back to beat Savannah (37-25) 6-3.
Savannah took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 8th, but with 3 in that frame and 3 more in the bottom of the 9th, Rome emerged victorious.
Luis Cessa: deserved a win (6.0 IP, 0 R, 7 H, 0 BB, 6 K) but Hunter Carnivale and Bret Mitchell  (BS, 1) (L, 1-2) combined to allow 6 runs in the last 2 innings.
Brandon Nimmo: 3-4, 2B, BB, RBI, R.
Jeff Reynolds: 2-4, 2B, R.
