The Staten Island Yankees scored twice in the second inning on a throwing error by the Cyclones 3B Anthonly Chavez an ruined the debut of SP Robert Gsellman (5.0-IP, 0-ER, 0.00) in the NY-Penn League.
Staten Island had loaded thhe bases with singles by Brandon Thomas and Isaias Tejada and a HBP to Daniel Lopez. Thomas and Tejada both eventually scored on the throwing error.
Brooklyn had eight hits, including two each by 2B LJ Mazzilli, CF Jorge Rivero, and RF Janmes Roach. One of Roche's hit was his first professional home run, hit in the top of the seventh inning.
