Darin Gorski Named League Pitcher of the Week

BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Darin Gorski has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 19-25. Gorski went 1-0 and allowed just three earned runs over 14-2/3 innings in a pair of starts during the stretch. The southpaw struck out ten and held the Bowie Baysox and Akron Aeros to a .180 batting average.

Selected by the New York Mets in the 7th round of the 2009 draft out of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Gorski is in his second season with the B-Mets. In 13 games (12 starts) this season in Binghamton, the Mount Joy, PA native has gone 5-1 with a 2.01 ERA. Gorski has fanned 62 batters over 71-2/3 innings and allowed a .179 opponent batting average.

Gorski and the B-Mets (82-52) start a four-game series against the Bowie Baysox on Monday night at 7:05 PM at Prince George’s Stadium.
