So Valdespin's minimal trade value now has plunged to the Marlon Byrd pre-2013 level? I hope he enjoys summers in Sonora.
ReplyDeletePuello should rebound as he didn't have any other issues in his history as a minor leaguer.
Thanks Reese for updating... I had other things to attend to.
ReplyDeleteI expected the Mets to drop him from the 40-man with changed coming up re: the Wright injury. The question now is can the Mets do that while he's under suspension?
Valdespin can still be DFA'd however if he is removed from the 40 man roster he will not serve any additional suspension time once the minor league season is over needing to serve the remaining games at the beginning of next season.
ReplyDeleteWhereas if he is left on the 40 man. He will serve 28 games with the Las Vegas 51's and then the remaining 21 games with the Mets as if he was called up.
I say cut him now to teach him a lesson. It'll make it very difficult for him to find a job since he'll have to serve those 50 games to start any new contract, which will only make it harder for him to find a team to take a chance on him. I'm not say this to be an a-hole, I'm saying this to give him a wake up call and hopefully get his act together. We all know that people have a lot of opinions about him and no one can doubt he has some talent, but he has clearly shown nothing but disrespect to his teammates, coaching staff and management, and in no way do the Mets owe him anything at this point.
ReplyDeleteJV1....say it ain't so! All those temper tantrums, Roid rage is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteI say cut him. He is the one guy I wouldn't give two shits about if he ended up becoming a MVP candidate with another team.
Kevin Mitchell redux.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how Puello's 50 games are going to be calculated? Will it count only the remaining games on the B-Mets schedule, which would mean it would run into 2014? He is on the 40 man MLB Mets roster and likely would have been called up in September. Will he get credit for September's MLB Mets games?
Richard:
ReplyDeleteThe B-Mets games in August and the Mets games in September will cover the suspension.
He will start anew next spring.
