The GCL Mets beat the GCL Nationals on Friday morning, 4-3, at the St. Lucie Sports Complex.
Some of the Mets weakest bats came alive… LF Oswald Carraballo’s (.167) sacrifice fly in the second inning scored the first Mets run. CF Ivan Wilson (.219) hit his first professional home run in the fourth, with RF Wuilmer Becerra (.239) aboard. The Mets last run was scored in the sixth when catcher Jose Garcia (.198) grounded out, forcing Becerra in.
Frank Francisco (2.25) continued his rehab assignment, pitching a scoreless first inning. Gaby Almonte (2.31) followed with 6.0-IP, 1-ER, 5-K-1-BB.
