Chris Schwinden (W, 5-9) goes 6 strong for the win: 2 R, 1 ER, 5 H, BB, K.
Four 51’s relievers, Tim Byrdak, (0.1 IP) John Church, (0,2 IP) Sean Henn (1.0 IP) and Greg Burke, (S, 4) (1.0 IP) combine to hold the Redbirds scoreless the rest of the way.

Francisco Pena: 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R.
Wilmer Flores: 1-5, 2B, R. Wilmer split time tonight between 1B and 3B. I’m pretty sure a call up in imminent.

 

Binghamton (70-43) not scheduled.

 

Clearwater (54-55) @ St Lucie (60-47) canceled (rain).

 

Savannah (65-44) rolls over Charleston (61-51) 6-0.

Luis Cessa (W, 7-3) simply shone: 8.0 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 12 K.
Paul Sewald, in a non-save situation, allowed 1 H and 1 BB while striking out the side in the 9th inning.

Brandon Nimmo: 3-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, R. This is the kind of night we've been hoping to see from Nimmo more consistently.
Dimas Ponce: 2-4, 2 R.
Eudy Pina: 2-4, RBI, R.

GCL Mets (12-27) reel in GCL Marlins (16-23) 7-0.

A terrific start for Octavio Acosta: (W, 1-1) 6.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, BB, 4 K. The not-so-young Acosta (he celebrated his 23rd birthday last Saturday) has an ERA of 2.17 and a WHIP of 0.80 in 37.1 IP thus far for the season.
The Mets bull pen held up their end of the bargain, with 3 relievers (Ty Williams, Jose Encarnacion, and Cameron Griffin) each tossing a scoreless inning.

Jhoan Urena : 3-4, 2 R.
Ivan Wilson: 3-3, 3B, RBI, 2 R.
Luis Arrizurieta: 3-4, 2 RBI, 2 R.

 

DSL Cubs (37-17) scorch DSL Mets1 (18-36) 12-5.

Starter Ronald Guedez (L, 1-3) was torched: 2.1 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 5 H, 2 BB.
The Met relievers followed suit, allowing 7 runs the rest of the way, all but one earned.

Five Mets hitters (Ysidro Pierre, Luis Crisostomo, Jose Maria, Edwin Diaz and Junior Carrion) had multiple hit games, to no avail.

 

DSL Mets2 (33-22) edge DSL Pirates (30-25) 3-2.

Conserving the young arms of their pitchers, Jose Medina is allowed to pitch only 4.0 innings: 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, K.
Gabriel Feliz (W, 3-0) then goes another 3.0 innings: 2 R, 4 H, BB, 4 K.
DSL Mets’ closer Nabil Crismat (S, 6) pitches the final 2.0 innings: 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K. In 19 games – 34 innings Crismat has a 1.59 ERA for the Mets.
