Perhaps he goes 5-0 down the stretch and pushes the Mets into second place. Maybe they invite him back next year on a cheap deal to fill a spot until Montero passes the super two date. Then....actually, forget it.
I'm ok with this signing. Just trying to get through these last 30 or so games. Seems like no legit AAA options available. Bring on 2014.
