Draft 14 - An Early Look At: Jake Godfrey, RHP, Providence Catholic HS (Ill.)
65th RHP - Jake Godfrey
7-18-13 - 2013 Tournament of Stars notes by Don Olsen: - Jake Godfrey has a good wide frame with a bit of slope in it, nice development in the hips and rear, could sit in the 220 in an Andrew Doyle mold. Fastball, 90-91 mph, had a decent amount of movement, not much backspin in it, shows more natural glove side break, sinker has some potential. Curve, 75-77 mph, flashed some above average ability with the depth and rotation to project. Circle change, 80-81 mph, had a touch of deception and action, solid feel for the offering. He has to curve as he is a bit curve happy and with the recoil and borderline elevation, there are some concerns. He shows a solid three pitch mix that shows some future ground ball ability, good follow into next spring. - http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/07/18/2014-mlb-draft-profile-jake-godfrey/

8-9-14 - Jacob Godfrey RHP from New Lenox, IL showed a live arm with a low 90s FB and hitting 93 with good late tailing action. He also showed a hard breaking slider in the high 70s.
