From media reports, he wanted to be in St Louis (good shot at returning to the WS) so the Mets' chances were not very good, regardless of the money.
Four years for Peralta is not a smart investment. He is aging and it is fair to wonder if his recent surge statistically is sustainable (age regression OR PED effects), not to mention he is only going to lose range at SS over time.....I want someone who will be an asset defensively for our young pitchers.
The Mets just keep giving me reasons to ignore them.
ReplyDeleteIam not sure if the signing of Peralta to this amount would make me happy. Iam in a conflict with myself and can understand Alderson to be reluctant
