11-20-13 - We
continue the countdown today with number 67, Mercer infielder Chesny Young. In his sophomore campaign
with the bears, Young started every game in Mercer’s 61 game schedule. Chesny
led the nation among NCAA Division I players in hits with a total of 105. In
addition, Young led the Bears in batting average (.401), on-base percentage
(.458), and total bases (141). The Mercer infielder also finished 2nd in RBI’s
(65), finishing out the Bears schedule with a 30 game hitting streak. His success
on the diamond earned him the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year. The
Atlanta, GA native attended Marist High School where he played 3 years of
baseball for the War Eagles. He helped his team to back to back AAAA State
Championships in 2010 and 2011. As a senior Young hit .424 with 41 RBI and was

11-20-13 – Tyler Beede - Change up: Beede’s CU
could be his best pitch. It sits in the
high 70’s and shows very good deception.
It shows a good tailing and sinking action. His CU has all the makings of a plus plus
pitch if his release point is correct. Command:
This may be the only knock on him.
His release point has been the biggest issue in his development. But he has shown times when his command is on
and he is all but unhittable. Summary:
The only thing holding Beede back is consistence of his release
point If you go with pure stuff, he
maybe the best pitcher in the draft.
Beede could become the best pitcher coming out of the 2014 draft, if he
can get master his command. It is very
possible, if Beede shows the improvement in his command that he could be a top

11-14-13 - Michael Schwartze - Other notable right-handers
include right-handers Touki Toussaint
(Toussaint has some of the best raw stuff, showing a mid-90’s fastball and a
power curveball but struggled throwing strikes over the summer. He did rebound
with his command late, setting him up for a big spring. Holmes has been in the
discussion as the top prep arm, sitting in the mid-90s and showing a plus
curveball with a solid change that flashed above-average in the showcases.
Toussaint has the physical attributes and raw stuff to earn his way into the
