Draft 14 – Jacob Gatewood, Luis Ortiz, Cre Finfrock, Cameron Varga, Scott Hurst

11-27-13 – Big League Futures Top 25 Poll –   9 Jacob Gatewood    SS Clovis (CA)  http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/11/26/mlb-draft-top-25-prospects-poll/

B/R – 11-21-13 - 15. Los Angeles Angels: Luis Ortiz, RHP, Sanger HS (Calif.) - At 6’3”, 220 pounds, Luis Ortiz lacks the physical projection one targets in a high school pitcher. Additionally, the right-hander is one of the older prep prospects in the draft class, set to turn 19 next fall. However, neither of those concerns can discount the fact that he boasts an explosive 92-95 mph fastball from an easy delivery, complemented by a sharp slider in the low- to mid-80s that profiles as at least an above-average offering at maturity. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1860341-2014-mlb-mock-draft-early-first-round-projections-for-all-30-teams/page/10

12-10-13 – TTF – Top 50 HS Players - 39. Cameron Varga, RHP, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (OH) - A converted shortstop, the 6’-3”, 205-pound right-hander has established himself as one of the top prep arms in the 2014 MLB draft in a short time, thanks in part to a fastball that sits at 93-95 mph. With his lively arm and fluid delivery, there is still room for added velocity. He adds an upper-70s curveball with good depth and a solid upper-70s change-up. Considering he has only been pitching full time for two years, his progression has been scary. Committed to North Carolina. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-top-50/40532#zz88YJZTOG8iEa1Z.99
