  1. Great job, Mack. I know how much work went into this.

I'm particularly impressed with Brad Zimmer. He seems to be picking up right where he left off last year, when he finished with a .949 OPS. He showed a huge improvement from his soph to his junior year, and that improvement looks like it is continuing. He looks like he has some speed too. With about 1/4 of the season gone, is he moving up on the charts? I notice you had him at #23 in your composite mock draft. Any chance the Mets might take a guy like him rather than a pitcher, with their first pick?

  2. Thank you Herb.

I hope you saw the pitcher's stats I put up yesterday.

So far, under Alderson, every first round pick has been a high school senior. Until otherwise, I assume that policy will remain.

However... Zimmmer will be available... so should Fisher... and even Gettys could drop that low.

I do believe the Mets will go OF with the first pick because of a 5-tool HS player like Dom Smith that will easily still be on the board.

My pick - Marcus Wilson - J Serra HS (CA)

  3. Of course I saw the pitcher's stats you put up yesterday. I find these summaries easier to digest than the lengthy narratives, although those are helpful too. In view of how much work it is to compile these stat lists, maybe it would be easier to put them up at the halfway point, then about 75%, and at the end of the college season.

They picked Nimmo in the first round. How do you think Marcus Wilson stacks up against him?

  6. Herb -

Wilson is all tools... raw speed and developing power... Dominic Smith told me that he's the most talented player on the coast.
