The Brooklyn Cyclones have announced via Facebook that the New York Mets have released minor leaguers Joe Bonfe, Mark Cohoon, Cristian Chivilli, Eris Peguero, James Roche, Chris Schwinden, and Ernesto Yanez.
The #Mets also released Jhonathan Torres and Chris Garcia from minor-league camp.
Always a tough time as Spring Training comes to a close and we see former Cyclones released by the Mets. Today, former Cyclones Joe Bonfe, Mark Cohoon, Cristian Chivilli, Eris Peguero, James Roche, Chris Schwinden and Ernesto Yanez were released by the Mets. Cohoon was the 2009 Sterling Award winner, emblematic of the team MVP, for the Cyclones after going 9-2 with a 2.15 ERA. |
I didn't see any surprises on this list. Sadly, we lost a couple of readers.
ReplyDeleteI think Cohoon speaks volumes on why you don't rush a pitcher out of the lower levels. Putting up superb numbers in, let's say, Savannah or Brooklyn, mean nothing in the long run. You need to master your game in AA and AAA.
I expect Cohoon, like some before him (Josh Stinson in Baltimore), will find a good home elsewhere.
Thanks guys for your time in a Met uniform.

First, the Mets announced that they're going to re-sign Farnsworth to a MnL deal tomorrow.
Then, Flores was sent to Wallyville to start the season.
And Dice-K delivered the 3rd strike by having a terrific outing today (would've been a shutout if Black hadn't imploded).
How will Mr Kaplan recover from this?
in response to Black
ReplyDeleteI think he's in very serious danger of starting the year in AAA with German taking his spot in the bullpen. He has just not looked good at all. Granted I def see the potential.
