Mets Minor League Report: April 15, 2014



MMLR Player of the Day: Las Vegas starter Jacob deGrom.

 

Las Vegas (10-3) tops Reno (6-7) 6-3.



Jacob deGrom was totally dominant. 7.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, BB, 4 K. Jacob is making a strong case for a call up. He could find himself squarely in the bull pen mix a @ citified shortly.
Ryan Reid followed deGrom: 1.0 IP. 3 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 2 K.
Josh Edgin (S, 1,) tossed the 9th inning: 1.0 IP, 0 R, H, BB.

Eric Campbell: 2-5 tonight, RBI, 2 R, SB.
Wilmer Flores 2-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, R,
Allan Dykstra: 2-3, 2B, 2 BB, RBI, R.
Matt den Dekker: 2-5, 2B.
Juan Centeno: 2-3, 2B, 2 BB, RBI, R.

 

 

Binghamton (7-4) @ Portland (7-4) postponed - rain.

 

 
St. Lucie (7-5) slams Jupiter (5-7) 11-6
Matthew Koch: 5.2 IP, 5 R, 7 H, (HR) 0 BB, K. After getting 2 quick outs to start the 6th, Koch allowed a single and a triple.
Beck Wheeler (BS, 2)(W, 1-0) came in with a runner on 3rd base and gave up a single before getting the final out of the 6th. Wheeler then proceeded to pitch a perfect 7th inning, striking out the side.
Randy Fontanez finished off the game: 2.0 IP, R, H, BB, 2 K.

St. Lucie brought out the big guns tonight.
Dilson Herrera, continuing to lead off: 2-3, HR, 2 BB, EBI, 2 R. (batting .340)
Brandon Nimmo: 2-4, BB, RBI, R. (.391)
T.J. Rivera: 3.5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R. (.390)
Aderlin Rogriguez: 2-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R.
Gilbert Gomez: 1-4, 2B, BB, 2 R.

Game 1: Savannah (8-3) trips Augusta (7-5) 3-1.
Kevin McGowan (4.1 IP, R, 2 H, BB, K) shared the pitching duties with Dario Alvarez, making his second appearance of the season: (W, 1-0) 4.2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 6 K. Alvarez has not given up a run thus far. ERA 0.00.

Gavin Cecchini: 1-4, HR, RBI, R.
L.J. Mazilli: 1-4, 2B, RBI.

 

Game 2: Augusta (8-5) returns the favor, splits with Savannah (8-4) 2-1.
Starter, Ricky Knapp (L, 0-2) pitches into the 8th inning: 7.1 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 8 K.
After a double to start the 8th, and a sac bunt put the runner on 3rd base, John Mincone was brought in to hold the line with the score still tied at 1. Mincone allowed a base hit to the first batter he faced, bringing in the game winning run.

Jeff McNeil: 2-4, 2B, RBI.
Jared King: 2-4.

  1. Checcini with more homers than Nimmo, Puello or Flores!! I know its early but I really didnt expect this! Pleasent suprise

  2. Flores is Abreu's caddy right now...tough to hit HRs from the bench. Add Dekker to the list of low homer guys, but he is heating up. And Nimmo, who I believe has been on base 27 times in 12 games, can keep doing exactly what he has been doing. Cecchini may have 2 homers, but he is hitting .238

  3. Youre right youre right..all I was trying to say is that Iam suprised that Checcini allready has 2 homers and I didnt expect this.
