MMLR Players of the Day: Las Vegas Bull Pen - Miguel Socolovich, Vic Black & Jeff Walters.

 

Las Vegas (14-5) trips El Paso (7-11) 5-4.


Logan Verrett: 4.0 IP, 4 R, 8 H, 0 BB, 5 K.
Miguel Socolovich: (W, 1-0) 3.0 IP, 0 R, H, 0 BB, 4 K.
Vic Black pitched a perfect 8th inning: 2 K.
Jeff Walters (S, 5) followed Black with a perfect 9th: K

 

Cesar Puello: 2-4, 3B, R.
Eric Campbell: 2-3, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R.
Taylor Teagarden: 1-3, HR, 2 RBI, R.

 

 

Portland (11-4) belts Binghamton (9-6) 7-4.


Not the best outing for Tyler Pill (L, 0-3) : 5.1 IP, 5 R, 7 H, (HR) BB, 4 K.
T.J. Chism got knocked around too: 1.2 IP, 2 R, 3 H, (HR) 0 BB, 2 K.
Jack Leathersich pitched a perfect innng, but with NO STRIKEOUTS!
Adam Kolarek came in for the 9th inning, allowing only 1 H.

Kyle Johnson: 1-3, 2B, BB, RBI, R, SB. Also, an outfield assist for Johnson.
Jayce Boyd: 1-2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 RBI.
Darrell Ceciliani: 1-4, 2B.

 

 

St. Lucie (10-7) spanks Palm Beach (8-9) 5-4.


Luis Cessa: 6.0 IP, 4 R, 6 H, 3 BB, 2 K.
Jake Kuebler (W, 1-0) was solid: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K.
And Randy Fontanez (S, 3) pitched a perfect 9th: 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K.

T.J. Rivera: 3-4, 2B, BB, RBI, R, SB.
Brandon Nimmo: 2-4, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI.
Maikis De La Cruz: 1-2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 R.

 

 

Savannah (10-5) tramples Delmarva (8-9) 10-5.


Chris Flexen (W, 1-1) was off his usual game, but got the W: 5.0 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 9 H, 3 BB, K. (Ground Outs/Fly Outs = 13/1)
Robert Coles held the Shorebirds at bay: 0 R, 2 H, BB, 4 K.
Darwin Frias had a rocky 2.0 innings: 2 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 2 K.

Jeff McNeil: 3-6, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R.
L.J. Mazilli: 2-6, 2 RBI.
Jared King: 2-5, HR, 3B, BB, RBI, 2 R.
Stefan Sabol: 1-4, HR, 2 BB, RBI, R, SB. This was Sabol’s 3rd HR of the season.
Dominick Smith: 2-3, 2 BB, 2 R.
2 errors for Gavin Cecchini, his 6th and 7th of the season at SS.

  1. Good to see Dom Smith on base 4 times. Campbell seems to be trying to plug the one gap in his game in the past - power. Homer and double.

    Maybe last nite's 2 walks and double for Boyd spark him.

    And TJ Rivera on 4 more times...can he be a major league Jeff Keppinger type? He has been on base an incredible amount so far this year.

  2. Oh, and the work-the-pitcher philosophy must really be in play...Bingo, Lucie and Gnats walked a combined 24 times last nite.
