Hadlock Field   Portland, ME  7:00 PM

LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets used back-to-back home runs by Dustin Lawley and Brian Burgamy in the first inning to jump out in front and never trailed in a 5-2 win over the Trenton Thunder on Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. Burgamy finished the game with two home runs and four RBI. Greg Peaveyallowed just one run in seven innings and struck out seven. Dilson Herrera tripled in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Cody Satterwhite pitched a scoreless ninth for his eighth save of the season.
BINGHAMTON STARTERRHP Gabriel Ynoa makes his fourth start of the season and his second against Portland. The right beat the SeaWolves in his last start on Monday, July 11, allowing two runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out five and issued no walks. Ynoa dominated the Sea Dogs in their only other matchup. He tossed a complete-game shutout  in game two of a doubleheader on July 9. The La Vega, Dominican Republic native struck out nine in the win. He has not walked a batter in either of his last two outings. Ynoa was signed by the Mets as a minor league free agent on November 19, 2009.

PORTLAND STARTERRHP Wilfredo Boscan takes the hill for the 12th time this season and his third start. The Maracibo, Venezuela native is coming off a loss in his most recent appearance. He tossed three innings and allowed just one, unearned run in a 3-2 loss to New Hampshire on Thursday, July 17. Boscan’s made two other appearances against the B-Mets in 2014. He’s allowed five runs (one earned) and six hits in four innings against Binghamton this season. That includes a perfect frame the last time he saw them on July 9. Boscan signed a minor league contract with Boston in March of 2014.

FLIPPING THE SCRIPT: After Binghamton dropped ten of the first fourteen meetings against Portland this season, the team earned a four-game sweep earlier this month. The B-Mets cut the deficit in the Eastern Division from eight games to four during that stretch. The Sea Dogs are the only team the B-Mets have a losing record against.

FANTASTIC FOUR: B-Mets INF Brian Burgamy tallied his fourth multi-home run game of the season, on Sunday. The All-Star has 16 home runs on the season, second behind Dustin Lawley for the team lead. It was the ninth time a B-Met has hit multiple home runs in one game.

WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE: The B-Mets open this three-game series trailing Portland by just 3.5 games in the division. Binghamton owns a 10.5-game lead over the Rock Cats for the final playoff spot.

HERRERA KEEPS HACKING: Binghamton INF Dilson Herrera went 1-for-2 on Sunday to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He has a hit in 19 of the last 20 contests. The  20-year-old has tallied at least one hit in all but four of his outings since joining Binghamton on June 19.

LET’S GET OUT OF HERE, BOYS: Binghamton closer Cody Satterwhite pitched a scoreless inning on Sunday to earn his eighth save of the season. The righty has blown just one save this season and hasn’t given up a run in six appearances throughout the month of July.

BACK-TO-BACK JACKS: When Brian Burgamy and Dustin Lawley went yard in back-to-back plate appearances in the first inning, it marked the second time Binghamton had accomplished that feat this season. Kyle Johnson and Dilson Herrera also did it on July 3 against New Britain. The B-Mets lead the league with 94 home runs on the year.
