16 hits. Mask over the noncontributor in the bunch. Another awful offensive game from Grandy. After cresting at around .241 a month ago, can he even stay above .200? Since Aug 1, he has very few hits and just 2 for extra bases. Bench him for the rest of the season "to clear his head" and play Kirk, who has never been my favorite. Kirk deserves it more. Grandy is, as I've said before, Chris Young with an albatross contract.
ReplyDeleteIn fairness to Young, he was a righty hitting righties most of the time. Which makes lefty Grandy's performance even worse.
Let me add, Reese, that ourr SS is doing quite nicely, the one named Wilmer, and the Dekker experiment is a continued success. I am expecting a strong Sept from each.
ReplyDeleteAs to Lagares, early in the season I projected him to hit .280 and be very similar to a young Roberto Clemente, who I believe hit around .280 over his first 5 years.
Some wanted me to have my meds adjusted after such a scurrilous statement...does not so crazy now, huh? In fact, who is the better OF defensively, Juan or the great Roberto? Juan has my vote. High praise indeed.
