2015 Draft Profile - RHP - Kyle Molnar - Aliso Niguel (CA) HS - UPDATED 12-4-14

12-4-14 -    Kyle Molnar - Rank: 42Aliso Niguel HS (Calif), SeniorHeight: 6'3", Weight: 205Position: RHP | Bats: R, Throws: RDOB: 11/14/1996Commitment: UCLATwitter: @kyleSBbaseballScouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 55 | Overall: 50

Molnar has a track record of success that stacks up against any high schooler in the 2015 class. He fared well on the showcase circuit as a rising junior in 2013 and did so again in 2014, when he also was the top performer on the U.S. pitching staff at the 18-and-under Pan American Championship in Mexico in September. He won both his starts, giving up two hits and no runs in 13 innings as Team USA took the gold medal.
He has a lively and heavy 90-94 mph fastball and the ability to locate it where he wants. Molnar's tumbling changeup and his feel for pitching are advanced for a prep pitcher. His curveball lags behind his other offerings but should become at least average.
Molnar's athleticism allows him to repeat his delivery and throw strikes easily. He's part of a banner UCLA recruiting class that includes fellow California high school pitchers and likely first-round picks Kolby Allard and Justin Hooper
