LAST GAME: The B-Mets failed to get the final out of the ball game, losing 5-4 against the Fisher Cats in 10 innings Thursday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. After scoring on a balk in the top of the 10th inning, Jon Velasquez struggled to close the door. The Fisher Cats scored two runs with two outs to hand Velasquez his first blown save in five tries thisseason. The B-Mets bullpen registered two blown saves in the game. Binghamton was held to just six hits, including two from Jayce Boyd who also had the team’s only two RBI. Starter Rainy Lara allowed an earned run and three hits in six innings pitched, earning a no-decision.
BINGHAMTON STARTERRHP Gabriel Ynoa makes his third start of the season, and the first of his career against the Fisher Cats. The righty took a n-decision last time out, allowing three runs in five innings against the Senators. Ynoa’s win came on the road, when he tossed seven shutout frames at Akron. The 21 year-old has a 3.92 ERA in 13 career starts in the EL. He’s gone 2-2 with a 2.30 ERA in seven road starts during that time. Opponents are just 3-for-24 (.125) against Ynoa when batting with men on base. Lefties are hitting .188 (3-for-16) against the starter.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: LHP John Anderson makes his third start of the season for the Fisher Cats, and the first of his career against the B-Mets. The southpaw is coming off a loss to New Britain, allowing eight baserunners and three runs in just three innings pitched. The 26 year-old made three appearances out of the bullpen against Binghamton last season, allowing five earned runs in four innings pitched. The B-Mets hit .333 against Anderson. He pitched to a 5.55 ERA in 14 appearances at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium last season.

SOUTHPAWS: John Anderson is just the second lefty starting pitcher the B-Mets are facing this season. Binghamton is  1-0 against lefty starters. The B-Mets are hitting .261 against lefty pitching this season, compared to .274 against righties. Binghamton has one home run and 12 runs scored in 46 at-bats against lefty pitchers this year.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The B-Mets have lost three in a row on the road and are 4-4 in eight road games this season. Binghamton went 38-33 away from home during last season, losing their final four road games. They would go 4-1 on the road in the postseason.

AINT NO REST FOR THE WICKED: Jon Velasquez became the first B-Met pitcher to throw in three straight games this season. He allowed a run in two of the three games, being charged with the loss and blown save Thursday night.

TWO YEARS, ONE STREAK: Dating back to last season, Jairo Perez has hit in 10 consecutive games (since August 23, 2014 with St. Lucie). Perez is batting .366 (15-for-41) during that time. It’s his fourth streak of nine or more games since the start of the 2014 season, including a 10 gamer (May 22-June 1).

CLEANUP ON AISLE FOUR: Aderlin Rodriguez is 1-for-20 since being moved into the cleanup spot in the order, going hitless in his last 16 at-bats. He hit .212 in 26 games batting fourth last season. B-Met cleanup hitters are batting .222 this year, with no homeruns and four RBI.

WALK IT OFF: The B-Mets have allowed two walk-off wins this season, both coming in save opportunities and with two outs in the inning. In both instances, the first two batters of the inning were retired. The B-Mets lead the league with six saves, but are also one of four teams with a league-high three blown saves. Binghamton was 4-4 in walk-off wins last season.
