Three wins in 4 games, to mute the pain of a poor Met loss.
Minor League Player of The Night - Darrell Ceciliani's 2 HR night earns him player of the day. Four on the year in 41 ABs.
Honorable Mention - Many impressive efforts. Martirez Arias tossed 7 innings of 4 hit, no run ball for the Gnats. So did Gant for the B Mets. Fulmer gave up 3 in the first, but was dominant in his last 6 innings with 9 Ks. Conforto pops #6, and seems like an unstoppable force. Dilson Herrera was hitless the first 2 games of the season, and hitting .420 since then. 21 yrs old. Amazing. Johnny Monell 2 hits, hitting .361.

ReplyDeleteLets go Michael Fulmer!!! Rooting for him to get back on track ASAP.
ReplyDeleteAnything left to say about Conforto? Oh, yes. Bingo's calling. Also, while it was nice to see Murph with a couple of hits yesterday, and I'd love for him to increase his trade value, I think the Mets offense (and defense, and base running) would look a lot better with Herrera leading off (or with Reynolds batting 7th).
ReplyDeleteESPN announcers said that Murphy came out at 3pm to take batting practice and they moved him closer to the plate
ReplyDeleteHerrera likely won't be replacing Murph soon, so hopefully he'll go on an offensive tear. We need Murph to bust out with a bunch of hits.
ReplyDeleteTom:
ReplyDeleteFor better or worse, the Mets are now deep into a pennant race.
You simply don't mess around with clubhouse chemistry at this point and start 'demotion' main ingredients of your team like Murphy.
the fan base needs to support guys like Murphy through this rough patch, as hard as it might seem.
Next year is Herrera's time.
Agree....to early for any moves, lineup changes. This team is already coping with injuries....
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Mack.
ReplyDeleteI support Murphy when it comes to hitting. With him I know that will come. I'll support him when he boots a play in the field.
ReplyDeleteWhere I draw the line is when he doesn't feel like hustling to first when it's his job to cover. That's unexceptable. That is where I draw the line. It wouldn't take but a couple of more plays like that for me to want to see him packing.
He made several errors in a short period and most of them where mental errors. If you're about the team and your not hitting. Makeup for it with defense. Don't let your team down by adding to it.
