Any comments regarding Guillorme? He was touted as an amazing glove out of HS...he seems to be competing with the bat as well...
ReplyDelete...it's a Puppy Pound League, but what is the early take on him?
@ Eraff: Mack may have a better take, but Guillorme has shown a real knack for geting on base, and is a truly determined guy, with a definite goal of big league SS.
ReplyDeleteDespite 2 errors yesterday, a reputed whiz in the field. Lacks pop, so it is unclear as of yet whether he will exceed the likes of Tovar and Tejada. With Flores, Reynolds, Cecchini,Rosario and Ramos, the hurdles to getting to the Mets as a starter or utility guy is awfully crowded, but the picture should be a lot clearer in a few years.

ReplyDeleteI don't attend the Savannah games anymore and I have never seen Luis play.
That being said, I am told that he is ranked as the top defensive SS prospect in the system so the 2 errors were obviously a bad representation of his game.
He's hitting above .300 right now which wasn't projected for him so that's a big bonus... but hitting above .300 doesn't guarantee you a job of playing SS for the Mets. Just ask Matt Reynolds.
My guess is Gavin Cecchini still has the best chance of moving Wilmer Flores off of short someday...
