LAST GAME: The B-Mets avoided a three game losing streak, beating Richmond 4-1 Tuesday night at The Diamond. Rainy Lara held the Flying Squirrels in check for his third win of the year, tossing 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just four hits. Jon Velasquez tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning, earning his eighth save of the year. Jayce Boyd had three hits and an RBI, whileJosh Rodriguez belted his seventh home run of the season.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa makes his six start of the season and the second of his career against Richmond. The righty is coming off a no-decision, allowing four runs on a season-high 12 hits against Portland. Opponents are hitting .314 against the starter. Ynoa is allowing a .375 batting average in the first three innings, compared to .241 after the third. He shut out the Flying Squirrels in his final start of the 2014 season, allowing four baserunners and striking out six in seven innings pitched.

RICHMOND STARTER: RHP Kyle Crick makes his fifth start of the season. The righty hasn’t allowed more than an earned run in any outing. The starter is coming off a loss last time out, allowing a run and five hits in 5.1 innings pitched against New Britain. Opponents are hitting .200 against Crick, including .148 at The Diamond. Opposing batters are batting .140 against Crick in the first four innings of his starts. The righty allowed two runs in 5.2 innings pitched against the B-Mets last season.

RUBBER MATCH: Wednesday will be the B-Mets second rubber match of the season. Binghamton lost the first one, 5-1, at Erie on April 15. It was their second series of the season.

SIX TO ONE: Aderlin Rodriguez is currently on a six game hitting streak, tied for his longest this season. A-Rod is batting .364 (8-for-22) during the stretch with 5 RBI. Rodriguez was two for his prior 17.

PITCH-HITTING: The B-Mets pitching staff is 2-for-12 at the plate this season. Both hits have gone for doubles.

Binghamton pitchers hit .219 last season.

IN A PINCH: Binghamton pinch-hitters are 3-for-10 with three strikeouts this season, including Jared King’s walk-off single against Portland last Thursday.

HOLD THE LINE: The B-Mets lead the EL with 17 holds. They’re one of four teams with more than eight. Binghamton also ranks second in the league in team saves, successful in 14 of 19 tries and trailing only New Britain (16) for the lead. 74% of their wins have ended with a save. 

  

FINALES: Binghamton is 5-4 in series finales this season, averaging five runs scored over those nine games.

NOT SAVE ANYMORE: Richmond ranks last in the league in save percentage (7 of 15). At 46.7%, the Flying Squirrels are the only team in the league below 50%.

HIGH FIVE: Binghamton hasn’t scored over five runs in their last nine games for the first time since May 12- May 25, 2011. The B-Mets went 1-8 during those nine games, but are 5-4 in the current stretch. Binghamton is hitting .244 in the month of May, down 35 points from April (.279)

CLEANING UP: B-Mets cleanup hitters are batting a combined .244 through the first 32 games. The fourth batter has accounted for one home run and 11 RBI this season.
