Did that really just happen?
ReplyDeleteWell, the only thing that could have been more fun than watching this game was playing in it.
ReplyDeleteLet the Mets enjoy it.
Don't expect this to happen again tomorrow, but, hopefully, the offensive will return to a level that can win some games.
(looks like the Nats will win tonight also)
Resse called Terry Collins immediately after the game to congratulate him on deciding to bat Boom Boom Flores 9th behind base hit machine Jake deGrom.
ReplyDeleteThe paramedics talked me off the ledge, everybody. I'm all right LOL. Now let's win us a pennant. Harvey tomorrow. I smell a winning streak.
And Dillon Gee pitched good tonight, though Black and Parnell not so good, but at least they pitched.
Tom -
ReplyDeleteI think we won't see Parnell until around the all-star break, if ever. The velocity is not coming back and, without it, he's not much of a pitcher.
First one back will be Gee who I hope becomes part of the pen as the new 2-inning long man, replacing Erik Goedell in that role and pushing back closer to the back of the pen. In theory alone, a team should have their best 12 pitchers on their staff and Gee would be one of them.
I would return Robles to AAA with a tip of the hat. He has a bright future and plenty of options.
Re: Black - looks like he still needs the rest of May to work out the kinks which is fine - tell him to rub down David's back every night before he goes home
