St. Lucie 7 - Dunedin 4

The St. Lucie Mets offense continued to roll as the Mets defeated the Dunedin Blue Jays 7-4 on Sunday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

A day after bashing out 19 hits in a 14-2 win, the Mets pounded out 15 more hits against the Jays on Sunday.

Colton Plaia followed his four RBI performance on Saturday with four more RBIs Sunday. His two-run single up the middle in the second inning made it 2-0. He came up with the bases loaded in the third and ripped another two-run single to make it 6-0.

Robert Gsellman improved to 6-0 in his eight starts. He cruised through the first six innings, allowing just three hits and shutting out the Jays. However, in the seventh inning he gave up five hits and three runs. He finished the inning by getting Dickie Joe Thon to ground out.

Gsellman went seven innings and gave up eight hits and three runs. It was the most runs he's allowed this season but he still registered his fifth quality start and kept his ERA a miniscule 1.76.

Despite holding a 7-0 lead the seventh inning stretch, the Mets had to hang on late. The Jays scored a run off of Kelly Secrest in the eighth to make it 7-4. In the ninth, the Jays put two runners on base with two outs to bring up Alex Hassan as the tying run. Akeel Morris got Hassan to ground out to end the game.

Morris earned his seventh save of the season and his fourth in the last seven days.

Everyone in the Mets lineup had a hit. Plaia and Miakis De La Cruz led the way with three. Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith had two-hits apiece.

Michael Conforto hit his 12th double.

The Mets took three of four from the Blue Jays and finished their seven-game road trip with a 5-2 record. The Mets have won seven of 10, their best 10-game stretch of the season. Their three consecutive wins ties a season high.
