The report of 85-88 is from PJ's senior year in high school, that was 3 years ago. He is, in fact, 88-90 and touched 92 on an Atlanta Braves scout gun a few days before the draft. Fastball command is his strong point, not necessarily velocity. Velocity is overrated in my opinion. I see hundreds of guys who throw 95+ never get out of the minor leagues but there is Jered Weaver throwing 86 and being a successful major leaguer.
