WHAT: The Brooklyn Cyclones will celebrate their milestone 15th season and home opener at MCU Park in Coney Island on Saturday, June 20th with a 6:30pm game against their crosstown rivals, the Staten Island Yankees. Manager Tom Gamboa returns for his second straight season to lead the Cyclones who, sometime this summer, expect to welcome their 4 millionth fan through the turnstiles at MCU Park.
The team will also welcome the family of NYPD Detective Wenjian Liu, who lost his life in the line of duty last December. His family will be in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game.
Fans will be greeted at the front gate as they enter by members of the Cyclones, an annual tradition on Opening Day, and there will be a post-game fireworks display.
