Mets Minor League Games - 6-18-15

Minor League Player of The Night - Scarlyn Reyes masterful.

Honorable Mention - Victor Cruzado, Dominic Smith, Michael Fulmer , Matt Oberste, and Michael Conforto all with fine games. You pick one.

AAA - Las Vegas - (38-30) 4 - Fresno (41-26) 11

    RHSP Tyler Pill -  1.2 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 6.78

It went so well for Tyler in a scorelss first before the roof caved in, in a 7 run 2nd.  Very worrisome.

Kirk N. hit a 2 run blast and is 4 for 8 since his return. Recker 0-2, 2 walks. Vegas valiantly rallied for 2 in the 9th, but could not get closer than 7.
AA - Binghamton (35-30) 7 - Portland (25-41) 1

    RHSP Michael Fulmer -  6.1-IP, 7-H, 1-R, 6-K, 3-BB, 3.14

    1B Josh Rodriguez  -  3-4, 2-R, double, 1-HR (12), 3-RBI, .282

    LF Michael Conforto  -  3-5, 1-R, double, .393

Fulmer looking real sharp. Conforto looking real lethal.  Josh Rodriguez showing great run production. Nimmo had 2 doubles - a great sign of getting back in the flow.  Gavin Cecchini has slipped from .341 to .297 in the past 9 games.

A+ - St. Lucie - (34-33) 8 - Clearwater (34-33) 9

    RHSP Logan Taylor -    3.1-IP, 5-H, 6-R, 1-K, 3-BB, 4.85

In a battle of evenly matched 34-33 teams, St Lucie jumped out to a 7-0 lead. Being evenly matched, Clearwater naturally got to Logan Taylor and Rob Whelan for a 7 spot in the 4th to tie, including a grand slam to the first batter Whelan faced.

Both teams later exchanged single runs, and it was 8-8 going into the 9th before Clearwater pushed across the winning run in the 9th off of Whelan, who was in his 6th inning of relief.

Smith had 3 hits and 2 ribbies (39) and Victor Cruzado rolled with 2 hits and 4 runs batted in. Matt Oberste has heated up of late, adding 3 hits tonight and has hit in 7 straight.

A - Savannah  (36-31) 3 - Asheville (30-37) 2

    RHSP Scarlyn Reyes -  8.2-IP, 3-H, 2-R, 11-K, 0-BB, 3.05

    CF John Mora  -  2-4, 2-R, triple, .249

Brilliant effort in a pitcher's duel by Scarlyn Reyes. He took a 2 hitter into the 9th, and Jimmy Duff fanned the final batter to earn his 6th save. Reyes moves to 7-4.

Mora smacks triple # 8. He now has 20 triples in 848 career at bats. Jose Reyes would approve.

Rookie - DSL Mariners (9-7) 6  -  DSL Mets-1 (8-9) 1

    RHSP Richard Reina  -  3.0-IP, 6-H, 5-R, 1-K, 1-BB, 5.87

    SS Hansel Moreno  -  2-4, double, .300

    DH Tulio Garcia  -  1-3, .171

GOATS: Tyler Pill and the tandem of Logan Taylor and Rob Whelan, surrendering 9 runs.

Rookie - DSL 2 -
